Item pruning

item pruning

After reading this [german, babelfish] blog entry I added item pruning to the admin section, which allows you to delete items older than a given period of time to save disk- and database space.

Update from CVS if you wanna give it a try, or wait for the next file release, which should follow in a couple weeks.

    Hi,

First, I test Gregarius for one little week only, and it has already replace all my different RSS readers !

I was quite anxious because of the lack of pruning capabilities, and you will give us the little thing thing that makes the difference !

To the testers who will prune some items, do not prune by using a too little number of days, cause Gregarius will consider all the (always available) old entries of RSS feeds as new (and newer) ones.
Anyway, this is due to my configuration : My install was too “young”, and I pruned older than 5 days only items :)

I tested lots of web-based RSS agregators, and Gregarius is the one I looked for :)

Thank you for this nice piece of work.

    Mike
